Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Testing: Perform visual, physical, or raw materials and finished goods.
Documentation & Reporting: Meticulously record inspection results, non-conformities,
and, if necessary, generate detailed reports for management.
Process Improvement: Identify root causes of defects and collaborate with production teams to fix issues.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure products adhere to industry standards (e.g., ISO, HACCP) and safety regulations.
Maintenance: Calibrate and maintain testing equipment to ensure accuracy.
• Lead and manage engineering activities within a high-precision CNC manufacturing environment.
• Take full ownership of production processes for micro-precision components in an expanding factory.
• Drive global quality standards, process excellence and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
• Act as the key technical leader, supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) projects in collaboration with headquarters and international partners.
• Lead the definition, planning and control of all CNC manufacturing processes, driving Zero Defect objectives and maximising CpK (Process Capability Index) performance.
• Serve as the lead for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects originating from Head Office, ensuring process readiness for mass production.
• Guide engineering teams in the effective use of advanced quality and engineering tools, including PFMEA and DOE.
• Drive process optimisation initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce cycle time, minimise scrap and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Build, develop and coach the Process Engineering team, strengthening core competencies in CNC programming, metrology and advanced technical problem-solving.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact with international stakeholders and partners.
• Maintain and manage design databases and technical documentation throughout the new product development process
• Build and test prototype samples to identify design issues and implement improvements
• Coordinate with customers and the China R&D team to ensure design inputs and requirements are accurate and clearly understood
• Create and maintain Prototype BOMs (P-BOMs), Design BOMs, and ERP BOMs
• Issue and manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), ensuring all related drawings, specifications, and databases are updated accordingly
• Provide technical support for products during mass production
• Identify and propose effective solutions to design-related quality issues
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to analyse customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product design, manufacturability, and quality performance
• Check, control and maintain the machine of the production section and support section.
• Implement corrective preventive and predictive maintenance to improve all production equipment and machines.
• Monitor, upgrade and evaluate the performance of the machine and give recommended appropriate action.
• Ensure the availability of spare parts of the machine.
• Analyze and take machine problem countermeasure in the production line to prevent a similar problem in the future.
